Why Poppies?

My name is Poppy. This is my personal website, I intend to use it to share my various forms of art with the world. I also am using it as a way to escape the corporate, capitalistic, slop-filled, algorithm driven web that has consumed so many of our lives and sucked happiness out of simple things.

I'm excited to eventually share all kindsa things on here, a diary(blog), an art gallery that will include links to some of my other limited socials, a random link button that will select links from a list of my current obsessions, and eventually maybe even a scrapbook/photo album type section.

I decided to use Poppies as a theme for this website because, honestly I love all flowers and vegetation (and creepy crawlies that help the flowers propagate), but Poppies in particular I've seen symbolize many things. They can symbolize eternal rest, solace, death and the mourning of the dead, remembrance, and renewal. They may represent a hazy dream, a forgotten place. Or maybe a place you know all too well, one you can see clear as day. They can represent relief, the sweetest release from pain, but also suffering, the most intense despair of all. Perhaps... This interesting and beautiful flower has a unique symbology for you as well?
